Encyclopedias – WR 60

Academic encyclopedia articles give you lots of facts – important people, places, events, and terms – on your issue or topic. The Barber Library provides online access to a number of excellent academic encyclopedias.

Unlike Wikipedia, articles in these encyclopedias are written by experts and are signed, so that you know who wrote them. Even better, you CAN cite these academic encyclopedias in your paper.

You can access academic encyclopedias at the Library’s website by clicking on the “Encyclopedias and More” icon. Then, click the link to Encyclopedias.

What next?

Once on this page, the best thing to do is search an entire collection of encyclopedias, like Credo Reference (or any of the other collections listed at the top of the Encyclopedia page) which is an online collection containing over 500 encyclopedias.
